Hong Kong Dim Sum BFB in Ipoh

HONG KONG DIM SUM BFB Today, my mom, brother and I went for a new dim sum place in Ipoh. Not exactly new but we have never been to this one, and surprisingly, it was good. Before this, I normally would only go to Foh San for dim sum in Ipoh.  While the environment here is definitely not as great as in Foh San, the food is as good, if not even better.  the menu displayed... The two of my favourite dim sum: fishball and char siew pau and they taste great. The fishball looks great. The char siew pau is also very good.  Besides that, my brother and mom also love the other foods served while we eat dim sum. Here are the foods taken with my phone...yummy!!  Perhaps the only downside to things are the environment...definitely doesn't bring out the atmosphere and environment like when I'm in places like Foh San, Dragon-i, etc....but the price is great. Kinda cheap for the great taste!!

Li Yuan Dim Sum Restaurant, Ipoh

There is a dim sum restaurant in Ipoh and I would say that the taste of the dim sum from the restaurant is not bad and can really match the famous dim sum from Foh San and Ming Court . It is the Li Yuan Dim Sum Restaurant and the restaurant is located at the Ipoh Garden East area; opposite the Festive Walk and although the shop is small, it was full most of the time and at the time of my visit to the restaurant. Reuse of bamboo steamer as decoration In my opinion, the owner decorated the shop like most of the coffee shop or small dim sum shop in Hong Kong. In fact, it doesn't looks much like dim sum restaurant except because of the arrangement of the bench and tables. One of the difference between Li Yuan Dim Sum Restaurant and Foh San Restaurant is that in Foh San Restaurant, you can actually ordered the dim sum whenever you see the trolley with the dim sum passes by, whereas here you need to pre-order the dim sum.

Famous Dim Sum at Foh San Restaurant, Ipoh

My brother blogged about dim sum in Ipoh previously - Hong Kong Dim Sum at Ming Court in Ipoh. The famous dim sum in town is the famous dim sum at Foh San (pronounced as Foo San) Restaurant. The restaurant is actually located opposite of each other and if you can find Ming Court, you can find Foh San and vice versa. The Foh San Restaurant is nicely renovated, if compare to Ming Court and both restaurants are always crowded especially during the weekends or during the holiday seasons, and the situation is worse if either of the restaurant is closed during that time. It's so crowded at Foh San Restaurant Well, I went there again for the first time this year, and it was crowded, even though I went there early in the morning and we have to wait for a while until we have a table - some more is a small one, but still enough to fit the five of us.

Hong Kong Dim Sum at Ming Court in Ipoh

If you asked me which is the best place for dim sum in Ipoh, I'll definitely say: Foh San. But I'm saying this partly due to the fact that I like to eat in comfortable and beautiful environment. Anyway, back to Ming Court Hong Kong dim sum, the first thing that you will realize is that it is fully packed with crowd. You will have to stand and wait next to some of the tables for people to finish and take your seats. I still fancy taking numbers and waiting for seats like the one in Foh San. Another negative part is that for m ost of the time, we share tables with others. If there's only 2 or 3 of us, it's better to share tables than to wait for an empty table. My friends and I waited for more than 20 mins for a seat and that is also thanks to another couple who is willing to share their table with us. If you ask the locals (Ipohrians), they prefer this outlet for Dim Sum compared to Foh San which is just across the road. I'm probably the exception but I would agr...
