Cheap Steak From The Steak Hut at Suzi's Corner

My brother told me that there is a place to eat cheap steak in Kuala Lumpur and the place is around our condo in the capital. During my last visit to the capital, we actually plan to have dinner in one of the hawker which has nice Chinese food (my father suggested the place since he prefer Chinese food) but unfortunately it was close for business on that day, most probably due to Ching Ming. So finally we decided to give this Steak Hut a try. Suzi's Corner is where the Steak Hut's stall is located and it's like within five to ten minutes drive from our condo. It was about to rain by the time we reach there and even just about dinner time, Suzi's Corner is practically full house, and guess what, not only the place is swarmed with not only the locals but with a lot of foreigners; either tourists or some expats working in the capital. We've ordered three sets of the sizzling sirloin steak and since my mum has to control her food, she decided to order the gril...

Marianis at De Garden, Ipoh

For those who are trying to find restaurants serving Italian food (besides Pizza Hut or any pizza franchise), I think one should give Marianis a try - I'm recommending the restaurant based on the taste of the food served at the restaurant. I would say that the price of the food and beverages served in the restaurant is pretty steep. The restaurant is located at De Garden and De Garden is located opposite of Kinta City - the most popular Aeon in Ipoh, and if my memory serves me right, Marianis is located at where Papa Rich and Papa Mia was located before. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I can tell that the food gonna cost a bomb; although there is a saying of never judge a book by its cover. The restaurant was well-decorated, spacious and chandelier-lit and it has a very baroque-meets-modern feel to it. There are different kind of seating that the restaurant offers - from lounge sofas to proper sit down dining to bar top tables. (Too bad I don't really...

Aglio Olio Prawn Spaghetti at Blackwood Coffee and Chocolate, Kulim

I have never heard of Blackwood Coffee and Chocolate until few months back when I first went there with few of my colleagues to have early birthday celebration to one of them. The Blackwood Coffee and Chocolate was just around the Kulim town for about months, so, I'm glad that there is some place where I can stop by to have my dinner once a while since the food and drink there are actually pretty pricey. There is one food which I find it quite good is the aglio olio prawn spaghetti. The spaghetti is lightly oiled making the noodle smooth enough that you can swallow it directly. As it is aglio olio, the spaghetti was served with some spices rather than the traditional tomato sauce. I like the portion served as well, just right as well as not too stingy with the prawns. I have about 6 pieces of the prawn meat and the prawns are medium size and to be honest the prawns are fresh. Maybe because the grocery mall connected to the Blackwood Coffee and Chocolat...

Grilled Boneless Chicken at Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant

Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant is one of the bistro and restaurant which was inspired by the Beatles; which I find it quite interesting - something not common in Malaysia; and reminds me of Mary's Kitchen which was inspired by another icon, Elvis Presley. I was so tempted to try out the food in Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant for quite some time and last Saturday I finally decided to give it a go and drive all the way to Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant which is located in the Sunway township at Seberang Jaya. The shop is located at 6-GF, Lebuh Tenggiri 2, Pusat Bandar Sunway, 13700 Seberang Jaya. It's within walking distance from the Sunway Carnival Mall - so one can always park the car in the mall and walk there. Spaghetti Aglio Olio at Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie

If you want to taste the original traditional Italian pasta dish, ordering the spaghetti aglio olio is better choice than the normal spaghetti because the normal spaghetti usually get the taste from the sauce where as the aglio olio will give you the taste of the traditional spices. During our last visit to Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie , we also ordered a set of spaghetti aglio olio. Overall, I like the taste of the spaghetti aglio olio; in fact I would definitely order the same dish again, should I have another stop at Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie. The spaghetti is thin enough with nice texture and the way the noodle is lightly oiled makes the thin noodle smooth and you can just slurp the noodle. Because it is the aglio olio, the spaghetti is not served using tomato sauce; but rather olive oil with some spices which brings out the taste of the spaghetti. However, I would have say that the portion served is rather small, so for those who are heavy on food, one por...

Pastries and cafes are mushrooming in Ipoh recently and one of the must visit cafe in Ipoh is Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie or also known as B & L in short. As the place seems to be special, we decided to have our had our mum's birthday celebration in this place during the weekends. Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie Front view of B & L The place has chic interior and vintage looking furniture with cozy ambiance; making it a suitable place for special occasion and catch up session with family and friends. We visited the place during evening session for dinner.....it was not too bright inside but I really like the Mediterranean lighting which makes the place cozy and not too dark either - just right. Roast Tarragon Chicken at Alexis in Great Eastern Mall

Having lunch break in Alexis must an expensive one because the food portion that was served by the bistro and wine bar is not huge but it is a little bit expensive; although it is about the same as what you might be getting at The Apartment . American Breakfast at the Mary's Kitchen, Cornelius, Oregon

The owner of Mary's Kitchen must be a huge fan of Elvis Presley because it is really obvious from the way the owner modeled the restaurant, which happens to be located at the Cornelius downtown. I can see a lot of pictures of the King of Rock and Roll almost all over the restaurant. I'm simply amazed with the collections once I stepped into the restaurant. Elvis memorabilia Still Elvis

Palatable Traditional English Fish and Chips at Uncle Albert's

I was at Straits Quay the other day to kill some time while waiting my sister to check into the airline last Sunday. While it is true that we have quite a number of choices for lunch, but it also took us to walk around Straits Quay before we finally decided that we will try the lunch set at Uncle Albert's. The lunch set includes a main course, soup of the day and home made brown bread coupled with a glass of ice lemon tea. We ordered two different sets of main course - Catch of the Day, which is the fish and chips and Roast Quarter Chicken. I must say, the fish and chip served is much better than most of the fine dining restaurants that I've went before and of course the portion served is humungous. The fish, is fried until crunchy; while preserving the freshness of the fish and the fish meat feels so succulent that it felt like it will melt on your mouth once you have a bite. I think that the fish was marinated with herbs before or during the cooking sessio...

Specialty Cuts and Combos At The Outback Steakhouse

Outback Steakhouse is an Australian themed steakhouse restaurant. Although beef and steak items make up a good portion of the menu, the restaurant also offers a variety of chicken, ribs, seafood, and pasta dishes. During my last visit to the United States, I dine at one of the Outback Steakhouse restaurant not too far from where my hotel is with a colleague of mine. Overall, I found that the restaurant is nicely decorated with Australia theme although the lighting is a bit poor as I find that the restaurant is a little bit too dark. The restaurant has very dim lighting It is very normal in the United States for the people to wait to be seated everytime we go to a restaurant and in Outback Steakhouse, we were given a device which is supposedly to vibrate if it is our turn but maybe because both of us went too far, and the device is out of coverage, the device did not really vibrate. Luckily the waitress there is good enough to still sit us when we ask about i...

The Apartment Downtown or also known as Malones at the Suria KLCC is an Irish restaurant and bars offering array of pork-free authentic Irish specialties menu. The restaurant is actually very easy to find - it is located at the ground floor of the Suria KLCC, the outlet is at the G48/139 and it is not easy to miss the spot as the outlet is just next to the KLCC park where you can see the water dance show at night. The Apartment Downtown opens daily from 11 am to 10 pm. Well, I went for a vacation in KL last month, coincides with my elder sister's birthday week as well as the holiday season and we decided to have our dinner at the Suria KLCC mall and it was extremely packed that day and most restaurants inside the malls were in fact full, and to our surprise, The Apartment Downtown still able to take in big table, and we ended up having our dinner there.
