BistrOne36 at Tyrwhitt Road: A Hub for Western Food and Drinks

Nestled in the vibrant district of Tyrwhitt Road, BistrOne36 has swiftly become a favorite spot for lovers of western cuisine and creative drinks. This new establishment, which has garnered an impressive 4.8-star rating on Google reviews, is the second outlet of the BistrOne36 family, following the successful opening of their first venue at Boon Keng. With an extensive menu boasting over 300 items, BistrOne36 offers an abundance of choices to satisfy every palate. A Culinary Adventure During my visit to BistrOne36, I had the opportunity to sample several dishes that showcased their culinary prowess. My meal began with a comforting Cappuccino priced at $5.90 and a rich Chocolate drink for $6.90. These beverages were the perfect way to ease into the dining experience, setting a warm and inviting tone. The star of the show, however, was the  Chicken Popcorn  ($9.90). This dish came highly recommended, and for good reason. Each bite-sized piece of chicken was perfectly crispy on...

Juicy and Tender Sirloin Steak at the STG Tea House Cafe, Ipoh

Last weekends, we celebrated my brother's birthday in advance at the STG Tea House Cafe. My mum suggested the place as we have never been to the place but we have heard of the place many times. STG (I supposed short for Sabah Tea Garden) is located at 2, Jalan Taman Kinta , Chateau Garden , Ipoh 30250, Malaysia but I believe finding STG Tea House Cafe in most of the GPS will get the direction to the location. The cafe is actually an old bungalow with quiet and peaceful surrounding. Although the place is famous for its tea, I did not order tea, but instead cafe latte and I found that the latte is quite up to standard. I should have ordered a red wine to match the sirloin steak that I ordered, but most wines are sold in bottle only. The sirloin steak that I ordered was medium, although there are parts from the sirloin steak that I have was slightly overcooked. The steak is served only in the black pepper sauce, with some vegetables and potato which is cut int...

Cheap Steak From The Steak Hut at Suzi's Corner

My brother told me that there is a place to eat cheap steak in Kuala Lumpur and the place is around our condo in the capital. During my last visit to the capital, we actually plan to have dinner in one of the hawker which has nice Chinese food (my father suggested the place since he prefer Chinese food) but unfortunately it was close for business on that day, most probably due to Ching Ming. So finally we decided to give this Steak Hut a try. Suzi's Corner is where the Steak Hut's stall is located and it's like within five to ten minutes drive from our condo. It was about to rain by the time we reach there and even just about dinner time, Suzi's Corner is practically full house, and guess what, not only the place is swarmed with not only the locals but with a lot of foreigners; either tourists or some expats working in the capital. We've ordered three sets of the sizzling sirloin steak and since my mum has to control her food, she decided to order the gril...

Marianis at De Garden, Ipoh

For those who are trying to find restaurants serving Italian food (besides Pizza Hut or any pizza franchise), I think one should give Marianis a try - I'm recommending the restaurant based on the taste of the food served at the restaurant. I would say that the price of the food and beverages served in the restaurant is pretty steep. The restaurant is located at De Garden and De Garden is located opposite of Kinta City - the most popular Aeon in Ipoh, and if my memory serves me right, Marianis is located at where Papa Rich and Papa Mia was located before. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I can tell that the food gonna cost a bomb; although there is a saying of never judge a book by its cover. The restaurant was well-decorated, spacious and chandelier-lit and it has a very baroque-meets-modern feel to it. There are different kind of seating that the restaurant offers - from lounge sofas to proper sit down dining to bar top tables. (Too bad I don't really...

Aglio Olio Prawn Spaghetti at Blackwood Coffee and Chocolate, Kulim

I have never heard of Blackwood Coffee and Chocolate until few months back when I first went there with few of my colleagues to have early birthday celebration to one of them. The Blackwood Coffee and Chocolate was just around the Kulim town for about months, so, I'm glad that there is some place where I can stop by to have my dinner once a while since the food and drink there are actually pretty pricey. There is one food which I find it quite good is the aglio olio prawn spaghetti. The spaghetti is lightly oiled making the noodle smooth enough that you can swallow it directly. As it is aglio olio, the spaghetti was served with some spices rather than the traditional tomato sauce. I like the portion served as well, just right as well as not too stingy with the prawns. I have about 6 pieces of the prawn meat and the prawns are medium size and to be honest the prawns are fresh. Maybe because the grocery mall connected to the Blackwood Coffee and Chocolat...

Grilled Boneless Chicken at Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant

Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant is one of the bistro and restaurant which was inspired by the Beatles; which I find it quite interesting - something not common in Malaysia; and reminds me of Mary's Kitchen which was inspired by another icon, Elvis Presley. I was so tempted to try out the food in Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant for quite some time and last Saturday I finally decided to give it a go and drive all the way to Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant which is located in the Sunway township at Seberang Jaya. The shop is located at 6-GF, Lebuh Tenggiri 2, Pusat Bandar Sunway, 13700 Seberang Jaya. It's within walking distance from the Sunway Carnival Mall - so one can always park the car in the mall and walk there. Spaghetti Aglio Olio at Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie

If you want to taste the original traditional Italian pasta dish, ordering the spaghetti aglio olio is better choice than the normal spaghetti because the normal spaghetti usually get the taste from the sauce where as the aglio olio will give you the taste of the traditional spices. During our last visit to Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie , we also ordered a set of spaghetti aglio olio. Overall, I like the taste of the spaghetti aglio olio; in fact I would definitely order the same dish again, should I have another stop at Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie. The spaghetti is thin enough with nice texture and the way the noodle is lightly oiled makes the thin noodle smooth and you can just slurp the noodle. Because it is the aglio olio, the spaghetti is not served using tomato sauce; but rather olive oil with some spices which brings out the taste of the spaghetti. However, I would have say that the portion served is rather small, so for those who are heavy on food, one por...

Dining Experience at the Suffolk House Restaurant, Penang

During the first quarter of 2014, my group organized a teambuilding event playing "Break the Code" following the team lunch at Suffolk House in Penang, the lunch was partially sponsored by our manager. Basically, we arrived at Suffolk House around 12 in the afternoon on Monday and we were then shown to our table by one of the waitress. The restaurant area was tastefully renovated with the classy English design, the building has tall dining area - making the dining area looks grand. The surrounding of this heritage building was beautifully restored and only the ground floor is open to all, while there is a tour around this heritage building which cost RM10. The hall where we had our lunch Outdoor dining area Top storey, we are not actually allowed in this area, but there is a tour of RM10 which will bring you here The menu is the same between the three-course-meal lunch set and the ala-cart; only difference in the pricing where the set was fixed at RM...

Pastries and cafes are mushrooming in Ipoh recently and one of the must visit cafe in Ipoh is Ben and Lynette Maison Patisserie or also known as B & L in short. Roast Tarragon Chicken at Alexis in Great Eastern Mall

Having lunch break in Alexis must an expensive one because the food portion that was served by the bistro and wine bar is not huge but it is a little bit expensive; although it is about the same as what you might be getting at The Apartment .
