Heng Heng Tom Yam Mee Restaurant

My colleagues told me that there is a tom yum restaurant in Bukit Mertajam which serves very spicy tom yum noodles and we have been talking about going there for supper for quite some time and last week finally, I got the chance to go there to taste this spicy tom yum noodles that they have been talking about.

Heng Heng Tom Yam Mee Restaurant is located at Lebuh Nangka 1, Bukit Mertajam and it is about thirty minutes drive from where I work. We went there for late dinner after work last Wednesday. There was not many people around by the time we reach there, but more customers are coming to Heng Heng after 10, so I supposed they are coming for supper.

We ordered 2 bowls of to yum noodle, one with egg and one without, and a bowl of tom yum porridge; and I'm surprise that kuey teow soup is served here as well. Like Joo Heng, we are supposed to select our sides such as fishball, crab meat balls or abalone slices just like how we do for fishball noodle in Ipoh. And also like Joo Heng, the tom yum here is also without kaffir lime leaves and celery although I did see some mentha leaves on top of the bowl of porridge - which make me conclude that the tom yum style in Penang area is totally different with Ipoh or even Kuala Lumpur.

In my opinion, the tom yum soup served here is not that spicy and "frightening" like what my colleagues mentioned. The soup was not sour, or not sour enough - which I think contributed by lack of kaffir lime leaves or celery. Nevertheless, the tom yum here is good enough although it is not outstanding - at least, I will have another option for dinner or supper next time; should I run out of idea what to eat in Kulim next time.

I cannot recall the price of everything - since my colleague was the one paying, so it's hard for me to tell whether the food worth the price we pay; I guess I can only tell if I go there for my next visit.

I was thinking to do something different for this blog during the weekend, and something pops up in my mind which is to post the wine recipe. There are so many wine recipe around that it will be too difficult to keep track and at the same time, I would love to blog about it, so that I can use the wine recipe that can provide me with the taste of the wine that I wanted in the future. Well, I can just treat it like another type of log book for this "experiment". Anyway, to make wine for home usage, it is not that tedious, just that you will need to have the correct recipe with the correct material, then voila, you can start making your own wine. Of course, for high volume production, it will be another story as it will involves a lot of machines and stuff like that. Roselle wine

This new establishment, which has garnered an impressive 4.8-star rating on Google reviews, is the second outlet of the BistrOne36 family, following the successful opening of their first venue at Boon Keng. With an extensive menu boasting over 300 items, BistrOne36 offers an abundance of choices to satisfy every palate. A Culinary Adventure During my visit to BistrOne36, I had the opportunity to sample several dishes that showcased their culinary prowess. My meal began with a comforting Cappuccino priced at $5.90 and a rich Chocolate drink for $6.90. These beverages were the perfect way to ease into the dining experience, setting a warm and inviting tone. The star of the show, however, was the  Chicken Popcorn  ($9.90). This dish came highly recommended, and for good reason. Each bite-sized piece of chicken was perfectly crispy on...
