Prosperity Bento at Sushi King

During this Chinese New Year, definitely we will try out the Chinese New Year menu in restaurants or food outlets. Many franchise are doing the same as well.......even the Japanese food restaurants are promoting their Chinese New Year menu.

Well, even Sushi King is offering some of the Chinese New Year menu for limited time. My brother and I were hanging out together with our cousins from KL, and since we can't really recommend a better place to eat, we think it would be nice to have our lunch at Sushi King at the Ipoh Parade before going for our coffee session at the nearest Starbucks outlet.

Notice the rose shape salmon in this Prosperity Bento?

Anyway, I ordered a Prosperity Bento - which is part of the Chinese New Year menu. There is additional "yee sang" on top of the normal bento set. What I really like about the set is the salmon is wrapped into a rose shap, and so coincidentally yesterday was Valentine's Day, so coupled with the rose shape salmon, it completes the Valentine's Day atmosphere.

I really like the "yee sang" especially when dipped it to the plum sauce that comes together with the set. The sweet and sour taste of the plum sauce mixed together with the plain taste of the sliced carrot and cucumber really give a fulfilling taste.

I like the way the food is presented, as well as how it is taste, although Japanese food is not really my type of food, but the Prosperity Bento  is not bad after all. Since we are still in the Chinese New Year season, I guess it's still worth trying out the Prosperity Bento at any of the Sushi King outlet.

[Wine Recipe] - Roselle Wine Recipe 24_11_2012

I was thinking to do something different for this blog during the weekend, and something pops up in my mind which is to post the wine recipe. There are so many wine recipe around that it will be too difficult to keep track and at the same time, I would love to blog about it, so that I can use the wine recipe that can provide me with the taste of the wine that I wanted in the future. Well, I can just treat it like another type of log book for this "experiment". Anyway, to make wine for home usage, it is not that tedious, just that you will need to have the correct recipe with the correct material, then voila, you can start making your own wine. Of course, for high volume production, it will be another story as it will involves a lot of machines and stuff like that. Roselle wine

Roast Tarragon Chicken at Alexis in Great Eastern Mall

Having lunch break in Alexis must an expensive one because the food portion that was served by the bistro and wine bar is not huge but it is a little bit expensive; although it is about the same as what you might be getting at The Apartment . Restoran New Twenty-Twenty [Jalan Pandan Indah]

It is not so easy to find good hawker food in Kuala Lumpur as compared to in Ipoh. Anyway, over the weekend, YenLeng and I went to this food court, known as "Restoran New Twenty-Twenty" in Jalan Pandan Indah and found it to be quite acceptable, especially since it's a rare chinese food that open for 24 hours. (FYI, there are quite a few of these food courts in the area so I'll probably frequent more of the others next time). Anyway, the first thing I noticed about the place was that it's not clean (quite similar to most of the chinese hawkers place) and the coffee ice here is horrible, just like most of the places in KL. I didn't even bother to take photo of the coffee and it's RM2.30 for a Ice Kopi, totally not worth it. Here's what I have though...."Ho Fun Ching Tong", or Kuey Teow soup with fish balls.  I don't think it's the best that I had since there are better ones in Ipoh but it's really quite good in comparison...
