After few round of blogging about the Asian cuisine, I think it's time to switch gear a bit and talk about the Western cuisine. I've blogged few western cuisines before, but mainly on the grilled chops. So, I guess this round I want to blog about something different - ribs and seafood, and for today's post will be on the fish and chip that I had at the Tony Roma's.
It seems to me that ribs, seafood and steak are the specialty at the Tony Roma's at The Gardens in Kuala Lumpur. One thing for sure, dining here is pretty expensive - at least for my current paycheck.
I would say that the overall environment and the design of the restaurant is quite ordinary, and to be honest, I found the place is badly lit, but of course, almost any western food diners have the same concept. However, I guess the diner still attracts quite a number of famous personnel.
So, let's not get to astray on the diner's renovation and design, and move to the main topic. The food taste. Anyway, I've decided order something related to seafood, since the diner is consider famous for its seafood and I ordered a fish and chips because of this.
I usually will first judge the food based on three things which are the look, smell and finally of course is the taste. The presentation of the food is nice - looks neat and clean, and most important of all look tasty as well. Smell wise, the fish and chip don't really have the fishy smell; for those who think that it might, but to my surprise it doesn't. Taste wise, I don't really like the way it taste, and given the big portion that the fish and chip was served, I shared a piece with my sister and my mum. I think it's just me who is not used to the taste of fish and chip as my mum and sister can finish up their portion. The chips is not bad, but again the portion is way too big for my liking.
Overall, I feel that the fish and chip was kinda pricey given the close to RM30 price tag. The portion is large enough to be shared out between two to three individuals. So, if one is to have fish and chips at the Tony Roma's, I would recommend going with friends and ordering different kind of dishes so that you can taste other dishes that are on the menu.
