Chicken In A Pot at The Apartment Downtown, Suria KLCC

The Apartment Downtown or also known as Malones at the Suria KLCC is an Irish restaurant and bars offering array of pork-free authentic Irish specialties menu. The restaurant is actually very easy to find - it is located at the ground floor of the Suria KLCC, the outlet is at the G48/139 and it is not easy to miss the spot as the outlet is just next to the KLCC park where you can see the water dance show at night. The Apartment Downtown opens daily from 11 am to 10 pm.

Well, I went for a vacation in KL last month, coincides with my elder sister's birthday week as well as the holiday season and we decided to have our dinner at the Suria KLCC mall and it was extremely packed that day and most restaurants inside the malls were in fact full, and to our surprise, The Apartment Downtown still able to take in big table, and we ended up having our dinner there.

The restaurant setup is nice, although we had to sit "outdoor" due to the numbers that we had, and it is very hot and stuffy that day. I noticed that most of the waiters are "foreign" labour, but I would say that their service were up to the standard that I have expected, given the price tag of the food in the restaurant.

I ordered a chicken in a pot for the dinner at the Apartment Downtown and I must say that I was impressed with the servings. The chicken in a pot is served in a claypot. The chicken in a pot is actually marinated chicken breast baked in the pot full of goodness like the whole grain mustard and cream, potatoes and cannellini beans; and the chicken is served together with a sliced of toasted bread.

I like the chicken because it taste so original with some herbs while blending so well with the taste of the creamy gravy. The chicken breast meat is tender and juicy. No matter how tasty it is, I feel that the content is a bit rich and I feel bored with the taste; it could also be due to the serving size. I was lucky as I already intended to share with my sister, so we kind of swap our food after that.

Overall, I would say that the chicken-in-a-pot that I had is nice, though the content is on the rich side. I would suggest that one to order the chicken-in-a-pot as side dish and share out with a group of people rather than having it as the main course - although it is listed as part of the main course dishes.

[Wine Recipe] - Roselle Wine Recipe 24_11_2012

I was thinking to do something different for this blog during the weekend, and something pops up in my mind which is to post the wine recipe. There are so many wine recipe around that it will be too difficult to keep track and at the same time, I would love to blog about it, so that I can use the wine recipe that can provide me with the taste of the wine that I wanted in the future. Well, I can just treat it like another type of log book for this "experiment". Anyway, to make wine for home usage, it is not that tedious, just that you will need to have the correct recipe with the correct material, then voila, you can start making your own wine. Of course, for high volume production, it will be another story as it will involves a lot of machines and stuff like that. Roselle wine

Roast Tarragon Chicken at Alexis in Great Eastern Mall

Having lunch break in Alexis must an expensive one because the food portion that was served by the bistro and wine bar is not huge but it is a little bit expensive; although it is about the same as what you might be getting at The Apartment . Hong Kong Dim Sum BFB in Ipoh

HONG KONG DIM SUM BFB Today, my mom, brother and I went for a new dim sum place in Ipoh. Not exactly new but we have never been to this one, and surprisingly, it was good. Before this, I normally would only go to Foh San for dim sum in Ipoh.  While the environment here is definitely not as great as in Foh San, the food is as good, if not even better.  the menu displayed... The two of my favourite dim sum: fishball and char siew pau and they taste great. The fishball looks great. The char siew pau is also very good.  Besides that, my brother and mom also love the other foods served while we eat dim sum. Here are the foods taken with my phone...yummy!!  Perhaps the only downside to things are the environment...definitely doesn't bring out the atmosphere and environment like when I'm in places like Foh San, Dragon-i, etc....but the price is great. Kinda cheap for the great taste!!
