Tom Yum (Tom Yam) Noodles at Restoran Joo Heng at Raja Uda

Besides the famous tom yum or tom yam porridge and noodles just besides the Kwang Hwa School at Raja Uda, there is another restaurant selling exactly the same thing which is almost as famous as the one I went previously. Well, if you happen to pass by Raja Uda and the tom yum shop besides the Kwang Hwa happen to be close for business, well, it's alright as Restoran Joo Heng which is also along the road, is selling the same thing, almost as good as well.

*Drool*..... this is the Tom Yum noodles that my friend ordered

I cannot seems to find the name of the restaurant using my Garmin, so, we decided to set the destination at Kwang Hwa school and then continue along the main road until we see the Restoran Joo Heng sign board. We are also lucky that our food hunting plan is actually to try out the tom yum here as the one next to the Kwang Hwa school is closed.

It was already about nine at night, but we can already see the crowd awaiting for their tom yum outside of the restaurant and there was already another long queue of customers choosing their dishes to be served together with their tom yum.

Yummy!!!......My bowl of Tom Yum noodles with prawns as well as some abalone slices

We are actually lucky that there is still another table inside the shop, so we sit indoor rather than outdoor and I went to pick up my dishes. I've some prawns, fish balls and meat balls and some abalone slices and after that my friend chose hers and within 10 minutes or so, we are served with our bowl of tom yum noodles. It's a surprise that our bowl of tom yum noodles can be served so fast considering the fact that there was already a long queue before us.

The tom yum soup actually taste slightly more sour compares to the other shop, and if one notice from the pictures, there is no vegetables, which actually surprise me. I have always thought tom yum should have some kaffir lime leaves or maybe some mentha leaves, celery and stuff like that, but this one come without those. Overall, I would not say it is bad. It is just that it comes without those vegetables or leaves, which makes me wondering whether we are the one who did not pick up those, or just the style of the tom yum in this shop.

[Wine Recipe] - Roselle Wine Recipe 24_11_2012

I was thinking to do something different for this blog during the weekend, and something pops up in my mind which is to post the wine recipe. There are so many wine recipe around that it will be too difficult to keep track and at the same time, I would love to blog about it, so that I can use the wine recipe that can provide me with the taste of the wine that I wanted in the future. Well, I can just treat it like another type of log book for this "experiment". Anyway, to make wine for home usage, it is not that tedious, just that you will need to have the correct recipe with the correct material, then voila, you can start making your own wine. Of course, for high volume production, it will be another story as it will involves a lot of machines and stuff like that. Roselle wine

Roast Tarragon Chicken at Alexis in Great Eastern Mall

Having lunch break in Alexis must an expensive one because the food portion that was served by the bistro and wine bar is not huge but it is a little bit expensive; although it is about the same as what you might be getting at The Apartment . Restoran New Twenty-Twenty [Jalan Pandan Indah]

It is not so easy to find good hawker food in Kuala Lumpur as compared to in Ipoh. Anyway, over the weekend, YenLeng and I went to this food court, known as "Restoran New Twenty-Twenty" in Jalan Pandan Indah and found it to be quite acceptable, especially since it's a rare chinese food that open for 24 hours. (FYI, there are quite a few of these food courts in the area so I'll probably frequent more of the others next time). Anyway, the first thing I noticed about the place was that it's not clean (quite similar to most of the chinese hawkers place) and the coffee ice here is horrible, just like most of the places in KL. I didn't even bother to take photo of the coffee and it's RM2.30 for a Ice Kopi, totally not worth it. Here's what I have though...."Ho Fun Ching Tong", or Kuey Teow soup with fish balls.  I don't think it's the best that I had since there are better ones in Ipoh but it's really quite good in comparison...
