Sukiyaki at the Sushi Zento at the Festival Walk, Ipoh

My last visit to the Sushi Zento at the Festival Walk in Ipoh was more than a year ago and my elder sister decided to give the family a treat at the Sushi Zento after she got her master study grant money from the government last week. And so we were shown to our seat by the waitress. One thing I find it a bit funny is that the Sushi Zento here is almost full every time we came, and we were slotted around one hour for our table as the table was booked.

Anyway, it's an hour window time, so we place our order and since I've ordered Kimuchi ramen during my last visit to this outlet, I decided to order something else - and I found that the Sukiyaki looks quite interesting in the menu and so I ordered the Sukiyaki set.

The Sukiyaki set consists of the selection of either the sliced beef or pork with variety of vegetables with sweet soy sauce soup served in a hot pot; in this case I ordered the beef set. On top of that, Sukiyaki was served together with raw egg which at the same time act as the sauce for the meat. The hot pot has kept the sweet soy sauce soup and the ingredients hot all the time until I finished my meal.

To be honest, I don't really like the sweet soy sauce soup, but it was alright because after the beef meat mix into the sweet soy sauce soup and dipped it into the raw egg which act as the sauce, the beef taste so good that one might even forgotten how sweet the sweet soy sauce soup taste.

Overall, Sukiyaki has very nice presentation and with the mixture of various vegetables and meat, Sukiyaki can be a balance diet. The portion is on the big size, though most of us might ended up finishing the set alone, but I would suggest that if possible share the Sukiyaki set, and order some other sides so that one can get to taste more variety in Sushi Zento.

[Wine Recipe] - Roselle Wine Recipe 24_11_2012

I was thinking to do something different for this blog during the weekend, and something pops up in my mind which is to post the wine recipe. There are so many wine recipe around that it will be too difficult to keep track and at the same time, I would love to blog about it, so that I can use the wine recipe that can provide me with the taste of the wine that I wanted in the future. Well, I can just treat it like another type of log book for this "experiment". Anyway, to make wine for home usage, it is not that tedious, just that you will need to have the correct recipe with the correct material, then voila, you can start making your own wine. Of course, for high volume production, it will be another story as it will involves a lot of machines and stuff like that. Roselle wine
