Italian Cuisine at Limencello Pizza, Grill and Bar

My brother is the camera man, taking picture of us together before our dinner

One of my most memorable food activity in Singapore is my dinner at the Limencello Pizza, Grill and Bar. From the name of it, one would have easily guess that this place is an Italian restaurants offering much more than just pizza,  as well as offers variety of liquors and wine. Not that we ordered any liquors, but the settings of the restaurant is just nice - right in front of the Robertson Bridge with the beautiful night river view - we manage to catch some of the pictures, but then again this is a food blog, so, I did not post the night river view around Robertson Quay.

My turn to become the photographer, with most of our food together, behind is the Robertson Bridge
Siblings - photographed taken by my brother's girlfriend.

I like the settings of the restaurant, a lot. What I don't like really is just the service, which is not so superb - judging by the price tag that we pay to dine in the restaurant - it's just not cheap, and I don't even convert that back to the local currency. Maybe to some, it's reasonable, but to me, it's not cheap and after getting charged so heavily, we are not getting the top in the line service. First, the waiter took the order wrongly - one can argue that it's my pronunciation, well, the food are Italian food and it's so hard to pronounce, but I do point to the food to ensure that the waiter got it right. Another is when the food is served, the waiter did not let us know about the food or drink name - that is, until we asked. Anyway, they do rectify the problem the soonest possible - so this is the good thing about their service.

My cup of latte - one on the left and my brother's cup of espresso

I have ordered a cup of latte for myself and the latte is nice indeed. The steamed milk and the foam milk with nicely decorated pattern makes the latte look nice and tasty - one of the principle when preparing food and beverages is that the food must looks nice and clean. The latte is just so creamy and smooth and it is not too bitter, that I don't even need to add the sugar syrup.

Different view of the latte - really like the way they decorate the top of it

My brother, another coffee lover in my family, ordered a cup of espresso - which comes like after few round of wrong delivery, but like I mentioned earlier, they rectify the problem the soonest possible. I can tell that my brother kinda like the taste of the espresso, the smell of the espresso when it reached our table can definitely tell that the taste will be a great one.

Regarding the food, we ordered a soup, one lasagna and two large pizzas - which is suffice for the five of us, more than enough for us. We did not finish the food in the end, I remembered we have two slices of pizzas left when we checkout, but that is not because the food is not great. It was great, just that the portion is way too much for us.

Three main course that we ordered

The soup which my younger sister ordered is the spinach soup - if I can recall correctly. The soup is creamy enough like what most western soup would be, and I think the chef likes to make soup creamy is so that it looks neat.

Bread - I think this one come with the spinach soup

The lasagna is really delicious and mouth watering, just by the look of it. The layer upon layer of soft buttery pasta with the delicious combination of juicy seasoned tomatoes mixed with ground meat perfectly seasoned with softened onions with just the right amount of cottage cheese all mixed perfectly together with hot, cheesy mozzarella cheese topped with a crunchy Parmesan cheese crust. Just looking at the picture of it makes me hungry again.

Lasagna
The two large pizzas have plenty of toppings and since we do not know the meaning of the Italian menu, we ended up ordering two pizzas with ham - plenty of it and the taste of the ham is just superb and salty enough for my liking. The pizza on the other hand is cheesy and gooey and with so much ham meat on as the toppings, the pizza is just so meaty - just the way I like my pizza to be. I just love how the two pizzas taste.

One slice of the pizza - can see that the top of it is fill with ham and vegetables and mushrooms with the the gooey tomato sauce leaking out of it

By the end of the dinner session, we are all full and satisfy with the food, but leaving two slices of the pizzas - untouched as everyone of us is so full. We left the Limencello Pizza, Grill and Bar to walk around the Robertson Quay before heading back to our hotel.

[Wine Recipe] - Roselle Wine Recipe 24_11_2012

I was thinking to do something different for this blog during the weekend, and something pops up in my mind which is to post the wine recipe. There are so many wine recipe around that it will be too difficult to keep track and at the same time, I would love to blog about it, so that I can use the wine recipe that can provide me with the taste of the wine that I wanted in the future. Well, I can just treat it like another type of log book for this "experiment". Anyway, to make wine for home usage, it is not that tedious, just that you will need to have the correct recipe with the correct material, then voila, you can start making your own wine. Of course, for high volume production, it will be another story as it will involves a lot of machines and stuff like that. Roselle wine

Jalan Yau Tet Shin It must be a surprise that I am blogging about a street in Ipoh, but this street is hard to be missed especially to those who stopped by Ipoh. Reason being, the Jalan Yau Tet Shin is famous for its mouthwatering hawker food and it is a must stop by area when someone passes the quiet town of Ipoh. In fact, one can easily see a lot of local tour buses stopping by for the people to dine and pack some of the local favourites confectioneries back home.
