Extra Hot Peri-peri Chicken at Nando's at Aeon Station 18, Ipoh

Nando's has slowly becoming one of the favourite dining place for my family because we like the sour and spicy taste, and at the same time my father is already holding the Nando's club card, which means there will be rewards for dining at Nando's often. Next, if you hold HSBC credit card like we do, you get a free quarter set meal if you buy 3 quarter set meal, plus you will have have the large peri wedges for free. Of course, there are other perks by becoming the Nando's club member, as once you are a member, you are entitled to a complimentary designer drink.

If you go to Nando's, basically you will be served with chickens with side dishes, and there are four level of the spiciness, where the one that we usually ordered is the Extra Hot Peri-peri. This is the spiciest among the four, but we like it very much that we also dipped the chicken with the same sauce as well.

The one and only outlet in Ipoh at the moment, Nando's at Aeon Station 18 is almost busy every meal time - before this, it was like full house from opening till closing. Anyway, the chicken here is well marinated with the Nando's sauce, and grilled slowly to perfection. It is actually way better than the one in Queensbay Mall, Penang. You can also taste the tenderness of the chicken meat.

The service is not too bad, but I won't give them excellent for their service. The staff sometimes don't even know about ongoing promotions, as well as we might not be greeted and shown to our table when we stand in front of the outlet. I don't really blame them, especially during peak hours and when the outlet start operating few months back - however, the service seems like improving nowadays. If you ordered the bottomless drinks, the staff will automatically refill it almost everytime without request, unlike at some other outlets, which is really great. I feel quite annoying if I'm eating, but at the same time, have to wave to get the attention from the staff just to fill up the drinks.

So, overall, I would say that the Nando's at Aeon Station 18, Ipoh is above average in terms of service, and the food served there is good, as well as fresh.

[Wine Recipe] - Roselle Wine Recipe 24_11_2012

I was thinking to do something different for this blog during the weekend, and something pops up in my mind which is to post the wine recipe. There are so many wine recipe around that it will be too difficult to keep track and at the same time, I would love to blog about it, so that I can use the wine recipe that can provide me with the taste of the wine that I wanted in the future. Well, I can just treat it like another type of log book for this "experiment". Anyway, to make wine for home usage, it is not that tedious, just that you will need to have the correct recipe with the correct material, then voila, you can start making your own wine. Of course, for high volume production, it will be another story as it will involves a lot of machines and stuff like that. Roselle wine

Roast Tarragon Chicken at Alexis in Great Eastern Mall

Having lunch break in Alexis must an expensive one because the food portion that was served by the bistro and wine bar is not huge but it is a little bit expensive; although it is about the same as what you might be getting at The Apartment . Restoran New Twenty-Twenty [Jalan Pandan Indah]

It is not so easy to find good hawker food in Kuala Lumpur as compared to in Ipoh. Anyway, over the weekend, YenLeng and I went to this food court, known as "Restoran New Twenty-Twenty" in Jalan Pandan Indah and found it to be quite acceptable, especially since it's a rare chinese food that open for 24 hours. (FYI, there are quite a few of these food courts in the area so I'll probably frequent more of the others next time). Anyway, the first thing I noticed about the place was that it's not clean (quite similar to most of the chinese hawkers place) and the coffee ice here is horrible, just like most of the places in KL. I didn't even bother to take photo of the coffee and it's RM2.30 for a Ice Kopi, totally not worth it. Here's what I have though...."Ho Fun Ching Tong", or Kuey Teow soup with fish balls.  I don't think it's the best that I had since there are better ones in Ipoh but it's really quite good in comparison...
