Espetada Rustica at Nando's

I blogged about free Espetada set at Nando's during Father's Day month, which is in June (the promotion period actually runs from the 4th of June and throughout June). Well, besides the regular Espetada set, one can actually order the Espetada Rustica set, which is about 10% more expensive.

Espetada Rustica - served together with corn-in-the-cob and three bean salad

Like the regular Espetada, Espetada Rustica is also served on a skewer holder and the servings are skewered with skewer and this display actually makes the Espetada so special, well, at least to me. Caution though, the skewer is hot - a proof that the servings went through a very thorough grilling process before serving to the customer. Like the regular Espetada, the Espetada Rustica is also comes together with two side dishes, in this case, we ordered the corn-in-the-cob and the three bean salad.

The different between the regular Espetada and Espetada Rustica lies in the ingredients used to marinate the tender and boneless chicken thigh. The Espetada Rustica was marinated with spices and on top of that, with the sun-dried tomatoes and grilled into perfection. While the regular Espetada has capsicum in between the chicken meats, the Espetada Rustica has the red onions.

Overall, the Espetada Rustica taste as good the regular Espetada, of course the Espetada Rustica is a little bit more special as you get the sun-dried tomato taste together with the boneless chicken thigh. Couple with the red onions and the side dishes that we ordered, Espetada Rustica can be a very healthy and balance food. The only drawback is that the price tag is on the high side, which is about two times a regular quarter chicken with two side dishes set.

I would say that I will on and off have the experience of Espetada  or Espetada Rustica set at Nando's but definitely it will not be an occasional stuff due to the high price tag. But for those who has yet to try out either the Espetada or the Espetada Rustica, I would definitely recommend one to experience the tender and juicy boneless chicken thighs which are well marinated before grilling into perfection.

[Wine Recipe] - Roselle Wine Recipe 24_11_2012

I was thinking to do something different for this blog during the weekend, and something pops up in my mind which is to post the wine recipe. There are so many wine recipe around that it will be too difficult to keep track and at the same time, I would love to blog about it, so that I can use the wine recipe that can provide me with the taste of the wine that I wanted in the future. Well, I can just treat it like another type of log book for this "experiment". Anyway, to make wine for home usage, it is not that tedious, just that you will need to have the correct recipe with the correct material, then voila, you can start making your own wine. Of course, for high volume production, it will be another story as it will involves a lot of machines and stuff like that. Roselle wine

Roast Tarragon Chicken at Alexis in Great Eastern Mall

Having lunch break in Alexis must an expensive one because the food portion that was served by the bistro and wine bar is not huge but it is a little bit expensive; although it is about the same as what you might be getting at The Apartment . Restoran New Twenty-Twenty [Jalan Pandan Indah]

It is not so easy to find good hawker food in Kuala Lumpur as compared to in Ipoh. Anyway, over the weekend, YenLeng and I went to this food court, known as "Restoran New Twenty-Twenty" in Jalan Pandan Indah and found it to be quite acceptable, especially since it's a rare chinese food that open for 24 hours. (FYI, there are quite a few of these food courts in the area so I'll probably frequent more of the others next time). Anyway, the first thing I noticed about the place was that it's not clean (quite similar to most of the chinese hawkers place) and the coffee ice here is horrible, just like most of the places in KL. I didn't even bother to take photo of the coffee and it's RM2.30 for a Ice Kopi, totally not worth it. Here's what I have though...."Ho Fun Ching Tong", or Kuey Teow soup with fish balls.  I don't think it's the best that I had since there are better ones in Ipoh but it's really quite good in comparison...
